Brettchen Wood Cutting Board
These small cutting boards were something we had in the kitchen growing up and used for cutting a sandwich or some cheese and then for a plate to serve it. I could not find anything as lovely as my mother’s teak ones. We made some new ones using recycled rail offcuts.
Brettchen comes from German brett = board, plank (regal=shelf schisport=skis) and *chen* meaning small as in kindchen – Meaning small child
